Suzuki Intuder 150

Suzuki Intruder 150 FI | A worthy competitor to Avenger?

A head turner for sure!

Suzuki unveiled the Intruder 150 last year, which generated quite a stir in the automotive market. Now it comes along with a Fuel injector to add to its features. But how does this cruiser motorcycle fare in the Indian markets. Dig in to find out.

Looks can be deceiving

When Suzuki launched the Intruder 150, some people loved the design and some people did not. You either love the design or hate it, there is no in between. But whether you like it or not, the motorcycle is a head turner for sure. Well in my opinion, the design looks great, but the small displacement engine does not do it justice. It carries most of its design from its elder sibling, the front LED headlight and the rear tail lamp are all carried away from the original model. The instrument cluster is carried over from the Suzuki Gixxer, along with the suspension setup. You get Front Telescopic Suspension and an adjustable Swing Arm type Monoshock suspension at the rear. For braking, you get disk brakes for both the front and the rear, bundled with ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) technology for better safety. Thumbs up to Suzuki πŸ™‚

The ergonomics on this motorcycle are great. The back seat is pretty wide and cushioned enough for a really comfortable ride. The positioning of the gears and leg rests are also on the comfortable side. Bundled with a smooth engine, the motorcycle really gives quite a competition to the existing cruisers in the market.

Smooth Engine and a comfortable ride

Now let’s talk about it’s heart i.e. the engine. The Suzuki Intruder 150 looks like a large displacement motorcycle, but under the tank, its the same 155cc; single cylinder; air cooled engine that you see on the Suzuki Gixxer 150. The power figures are same as well. The Intruder 150 develops a peak power of 14.8 PS @ 8000 RPM and delivers the maximum torque of 14 NM @ 6000 RPM. The gear ratios have been tweaked for more bottom and mid-range runs, making the motorcycle feel quite smooth. The fuel tank capacity of the motorcycle is 11L. Talking about mileage,Β  Suzuki claims the mileage of Intruder 150 to be about 44 KM per liter.

The current competition for this motorcycle is the Avenger family of cruisers from Bajaj, which have been recently revamped. Follow the article below for that.
